Missions: answering God's call
to reach the lost, both at home and around the world.

At Battle Lake Alliance, we are committed to doing our part in proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and making disciples among all the peoples of the world.
We do this by:

  • Supporting international workers sent out by our Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination with prayer and finances.

  • Financial support is via individuals' giving designated for the denomination's “Great Commission Fund.”

  • Many of our members go on foreign missions trips and we anticipate more opportunities in the future.

  • Looking for ways to make our city a better place by sharing the love of Jesus Christ in word and deed.

The Great Commission Fund

Mike and Elissa Picconatto, Alliance International Workers in Berlin, visited Battle Lake Alliance in 2018. In this video Mike shares with us how the Alliance is a family of believers, enabling him and other international workers to share the Gospel around the world through the Great Commission Fund.

Jeter and Laura Livingston tell about their teaching mission in Cote D`Ivoire and how the Great Commission Fund of the Christian and Missionary Alliance supports workers all over the world.

A Heart for Missions

Battle Lake Alliance supports and encourages members and their families to engage in outreach and missions work. For many years, Tom Byars has faithfully given a few weeks each summer to travel to Alaska, where he participates in this outreach to children, ages 6 - 12, in the foster care system. In addition to the structured schedule, the summer camp maintains a ratio of one volunteer counselor for every two children. Including all volunteers in addition to counselors, there are more adults at the camps than children. Adult role models encourage positive experiences through a plethora of activities, including swimming, fishing, boating, jewelry-making and woodworking. The highlight of the summer camp is the giant birthday party with cake and gifts for all campers.

In February 2017 Lee Hemming participated in a medical mission trip to Cambodia, with a crew of volunteers from various backgrounds. The impact of this ministry was transformational for team members as well as the Cambodian people they served. With photographs taken by Lee and others, she shares a few stories about the trip.
