Fall Ministry: A Place for Everyone

With fall ministry fast approaching, I wanted to give a few updates.  It is my hope that you find a place for you and your family to belong as we grow together in the Lord.

Worship

We gather every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. to sings songs of praise to God, pray, and hear from the Word of God.  You are invited to join us as we worship the Lord.

Awana

We are looking forward to kicking off another year of Awana.  Awana helps kids know Jesus by teaching them the Bible in fun ways.  The evening starts with a free meal for the whole family at 5:20.  The clubs run until 7:30 p.m.

Registration for Awana is open now.  First club night is Sept. 12th

Interested in helping?  Please contact us.

Youth Ministry

For kids just out of Awana, we have a youth group time for them.  The goal is to help those coming out of Awana build upon what they learned so they can be solid in their own faith going forward.  This winter we will attend the winter retreat again at Big Sandy Camp.  This year is a Life Conference year also, which means teens entering into 9th grade or leaving high school this year will be able to attend the conference.  More information will be distributed in the fall.  You can also find out more here --- https://allianceyouth.com/life/

Sunday School

September 9th is the kick-off to another Sunday School year.  It is important for all of us to be growing in our faith.  These classes exist to help make disciples of all ages in our church.   There are three classes starting at 9 a.m.:

Preschool & Kindergarten (classroom 2) -- a rotation of teachers
Elementary (classroom 1) -- Taught by Jenny Riches
Teens & Adults (fellowship hall) - Taught by the elders

New this year:  We have some Sundays where kids will help lead worship!  Please try to make it to Sunday School this year as a family.  Meet new people and grow together.

Refresh Your Marriage

G.K. Chesterton said that marriage is an adventure, like going to war.  And while we laugh at that, we recognize that marriage is a commitment that takes effort.  Therefore, this fall we have a class meeting on Monday nights at the church 6:30 - 8 p.m.  (Starting October 1st for 5 weeks) This class is to help you focus on your marriage.  Marriages of both younger and older couples are encouraged to attend. Childcare will be provided.

Financial Peace University

This is the popular Dave Ramsey course that helps people of all ages manage money God's way.  This class has been offered at the church before and was well attended.  This will be taking place on Monday nights after the new year.  Look for more information to come.

Women's Retreat

Don't miss out on Women's retreat! As of this post we have a group already signed up.   Check out the event post and get signed-up!

Men's Breakfast

The men will begin meeting again on September 8th for fellowship, food, and time in the Word together.  We have men and young men of all ages attend these gatherings.  Join us!

Operation Christmas Child

As we get closer to Christmas, we will be having opportunity to fill shoeboxes for the Operation Christmas Child Ministry. This is a great opportunity to do a family service project.  You can pack a box on your own, or join us for the packing party.  Information to come.

Angel Tree

This is our third year participating in Prison Fellowship's Angel Tree ministry.  Angel Tree allows us to show some love to children with a parent who is incarcerated. These are all people within our local communities.  We also were able to connect with some of the inmates last year as well through letters.  Names will be out in November.

As you can see, we have multiple opportunities for both outreach and growth coming up.  We also are working on plans for a special event this fall.

We hope you are able to join us this fall.  There is a place for everyone at Battle Lake Alliance Church.
