Investing in What Matters: An Awana Update

Last month I posted an article about the youth ministry. Today I want to remind us of ministry that takes place to families each week in our church building. Awana continues to be a vital part of our church life. Jesus commands us to make disciples and that is what we are aiming to do. Remember that the most important thing we can offer our children (and by extension their families) is the Word of God! So with a new year starting soon, here is a note from Awana Commander, Cassie Holo. - Pastor Derek

We have a great group of leaders (even more than are shown here)

Another year of Awana is about to begin. As I look back over the years we had had Awana at our church I see how much we have grown and changed. We have been doing Awana for 10 consecutive years now with this year being our 11th. It started out at the school with Cubbies, Sparks, and T&T, later moving back to the church. We added a meal to our night which was a huge success and a wonderful blessing for our families. We endured through COVID which made us stronger in our desire to mentor these young people. We have learned to adapt to new curriculum changes and are finding out what works for our church and our kids. We have an amazing team of volunteers who come in every Wednesday night to share God's word and to pray with these wonderful kids. Awana is an amazing blessing to our church and a blessing to our community. I'm eager to see how God works in the kids this year. - Cassie Holo, Awana Commander

Awana begins on September 21st. Registration is now open over on our Awana page. There is also a calendar there that shows the plan for the entire year. Thank you for praying and for supporting Awana in our community. This is making a difference!
