A New School Year of Youth Group
We are just a week away from the start of Kids 4 Truth (formerly Awana) and youth group. This year for youth group we are taking intentional steps to challenge students to think. The goal is to see our students know, think, and live out truth.
Wednesday Night Teaching Plan
Our students have questions and a lot of them. Some of them stem from traumatic life experiences and some are just common questions we all face. What we hope to provide is a safe place for questions to be worked through and truth to be applied. This year we will be diving in to the topic of apologetics. Our prayer is that this helps our students face the world with a Biblical worldview.
What will happen wednesday night?
The youth (7th-12th grade) will meet in the youth room at 6 pm or right after the opening worship time in the sanctuary with the other kids. We will then have some time together doing an activity just for fun and then we will have our teaching time. The teaching time will be taught this year by Dave Anderson who is putting together some really interesting content that will make us all think. This will challenge us to think deeper than we have in the past for our Wednesday night study. There will also be time to talk about and pray about the things going on in out lives.
Partnering with parents
The intent is to get parents involved in this through clear communication and involvement. We want this to be helpful to you as you are the primary disciple-maker of your children.
Other events?
Wednesday nights will be spent mostly in allowing space for conversations around questions, Bible teaching, worship, and prayer. We will plan quarterly events outside of Wednesday to get together for more fun and relationship building. If you have ideas, let one of the leaders know.
Prayer
Please continue to pray for our students and leaders (and parents) as we are all trying to help one another navigate the lies with the truth of God’s Word. The culture we are living in is quite complex, but God’s Word is still true and still changing lives.
Join us on Wednesday Nights in Battle Lake
All 7th - 12th graders are welcome to join us Wednesday nights starting Sept. 13th. At 5:20pm a free meal is offered and then 6 pm the kids meet for Kids 4 Truth club and the youth meet for youth group. We hope to see you there!
