Open Position -- Associate Pastor for Youth


BATTLE LAKE ALLIANCE CHURCH EXISTS TO GLORIFY GOD BY MAKING DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST

Overview:

  • Battle Lake Alliance Church is a growing church at the heart of Lakes Country in central Minnesota. BLAC exists to proclaim Christ in order to complete His mission for human redemption locally (Battle Lake, MN), regionally, and around the world. The current ministry in the church has grown to the point where additional leadership is needed to see greater impact. To accomplish this, BLAC is seeking to hire an associate pastor with a youth ministry emphasis.

Qualifications:

  • An authentic and vital relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • A ministry-related undergraduate degree.

  • Licensed, or willing to become licensed with the North Central District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance and working toward Ordination and Consecration.

  • The ability to communicate with different age groups.

  • The ability to be self-motivated, organized, and to work independently.

  • Willingness to be a collaborator in the life of the church.

  • Life-long learner, relational, growing spiritually and in leadership.

  • Small town minded individual with ability to build relationships to lead from within.

Responsibilities:

  • We recognize that the pastoral candidate has been gifted by God with certain passions and gifts. For BLAC the candidate is expected to have a desire to serve in youth ministry to develop, train, disciple, and help the church family intentionally reaching youth with the Gospel. Other areas of ministry developed based on the candidate. (i.e. worship, outreach, technology etc.)

Expectations for the Associate Pastor:

  • Oversight of the youth ministry (7th – 12th grade) to include leading youth group, special events, retreats, equipping youth leaders, and other youth specific events.

  • Provide oversight to the children’s ministry program to resource and equip those serving there.

  • Regular times of teaching and investing in lives of others.

  • Participation in the Sunday morning worship service, including preaching occasionally.

  • Attend regional prayer gatherings and other district meetings as able.

  • Develop meaningful community relationships and connections to include the ministerial.

  • Freedom to dream and develop new ministry to meet needs of our community.

  • Assist the pastor with other ministry needs as needed and assigned.

  • Relationally invest in lives of the church family.

  • Remuneration based on experience and includes appropriate vacation time, Alliance 403b options, Housing allowance, options for health insurance, major holidays off. Sick days as needed. Flexibility to prioritize family is valued and expected. Office time is flexible. Current position is based on a 32 hr per week avg.
